Course: IS30 Training Provider: Farmingdale State College Curriculum: CNC (Master CAM Programming Essentials) Level Two Location: Lupton Hall, Note new room # 165 (Effective 3-4-10) Duration: 6 sessions/ 32 Hours Time: 8am to 1:30pm / March 5, 12, 19, 26, April 9, 16 ( No class Good Friday, April 12) Parking: Parking Permits Required (will be provided upon approval) Description: The Master CAM X and X+ course enables students to quickly master the advanced levels of CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing). This course requires a basic knowledge of CNC Programming and concentrates on more advanced (more complex shaped parts). This course will offer a highest level of professional flexibility in any modern manufacturing or experimental facility. Master CAM, amongst a number of similar industrial software programs, has become a standard in the manufacturing community and allows for very high levels of precision and accuracy in the manufacturing of complex-shaped industrial components. The course also includes a comprehensive approach to Solids Modeling and Surface Cutting.
Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to expand their professional careers to the following areas: Manufacturing Engineering assistant, Experimental Engineering technician, Industrial Engineering, and Technical Laboratory Specialist.

Description: This is the third part of Project Management. There is a prerequisite, which are IS31 Project Management Level 1 and IS32 Project Management Level II. Put into action the skills you have learned in the previous two courses. As part of a team, you'll develop and complete a plan for a five-week project. As you go along, your team will provide updates to "management." At the end of the course, your team will formally present the project deliverables you've produced.

Description: The DSA SM Certification Program is a holistic foundation program designed to develop, cultivate, and make available the requisite skillsets required to meet the immediate demands of the global system targeting energy efficient and renewable energy industries. DSA SM is a business model born in the 21st Century in response to 21st Century global needs and is based on a "reality focused" approach using "real world" on- location and hands-on learning techniques to certify candidates.
The DSA SM Certification Program is partitioned into Four (4) Phases:

Phase I Modules will provide DSA SM candidates with practical knowledge, skills, and abilities required to interact and be an effective supplier manager within our global system.

Course: IS35 Training Provider: Dowling Curriculum: Dynamic Supplier Alignment Phase II Location: Center for Excellence (Precision Assemblies Technology, Bohemia) Duration: 12 Hours Time: 11:30am - 2:30pm / Apr. 23, 30, May 7,14 Parking: Directions will be provided. Description: On-location at a DSA SM Center of Excellence operational facility observing, learning and working in an actual corporation making the transformation to Green Technologies.
Phase II is a totally innovative learning approach developed by DSA SM with a learning approach analogous to a university hospital teaching and learning approach where candidates can observe the Green transformation as it occurs.
This module is conducted at Precision Assembly Technologies (PAT) and Telegence Corporation, located in Bohemia Long Island New York, a DSA SM Center of Excellence. This functional facility has been adapted to provide candidates with a direct view to hands-on applications demonstrating the transformation that is occurring on Long Island from conventional industries to emerging energy efficient renewable energy Green industries.
As a working training center, the DSA SM Center of Excellence will be utilized to retrain our current displaced workforce in Green skills and is set up to take full advantage of both Federal Registered Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship programs to improve the chances of full time employment in the emerging Green industries today and is committed to close collaboration with National organizations such as National Academy Foundation http://naf.org/ to solidify grass root support at the High School level for the DSA SM Program.
The DSA SM Center of Excellence Model is designed to continue operation well beyond the Grant period of performance with operational funds derived from direct support of industry groups and revenue generation through market growth and innovations brought about though technology innovations.

FUNDAMENTALS OF ENGINEERING (Required for PE License)
This course is designed to enable the student to prepare for a Professional Engineer's License (PE), which is required for professional employment in organizations involved with public safety, environment, government and consulting engineering. It is also an asset for promotion and career changes within utility, aerospace and manufacturing organizations and community colleges. Engineers who have spent many years in an industrial climate will find a career change easier and more rewarding if the have a P.E. license.
